Facilities Boiler Engineer

The Ohio State University seeks applicants for a full-time Facilities Boiler Engineer at the Wooster Campus Facility in Wooster Ohio.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Operate high-pressure boiler equipment and steam-driven or other turbines.
Inspect, clean, maintain, and repair boiler systems and related equipment.
Perform plumbing and steam fitting tasks as needed.
Provide technical guidance to other staff and assist other trades.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment and adhere to all safety protocols.
Attend meetings, complete documentation, and deliver high-quality customer service.
Communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, and supervisors via written, electronic, and verbal methods.
Operate department vehicles and perform other duties as assigned.
Hourly Pay and Benefits:
The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit’s available budget, and the candidate’s qualifications. The salary range is $25.35 - $31.69/hr.
Work Schedule:
To be Determined. May include overtime and 24-hour emergency call.
Requirements and Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED.
Two years of experience working with high-pressure boilers or Ohio Stationary Steam Engineer License
Must possess a current State of Ohio High Pressure Boiler License.
May require a valid State of Ohio driver’s license.
Ability to push and pull up to 70 lbs.
Ability to distinguish colors.
Ability to climb and stand on ladders for extended periods.
Work Conditions:
May work in hot, cold, dusty, or dirty environments for extended periods.
May be required to work in cramped or confined spaces.
Shift, hours, days, and/or location are subject to change based on operational needs in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.
